Joanne Ali

I started in Administration over 20 years ago for a computer company based in Hucknall. I worked with this company for over 10 years, developing my skills and job roles as the company grew.  The company sold accounting software and also implemented networks, so I was subject to a wide variety of administrational roles. I became the P.A. for 3 Directors and ran the office for all the software engineers.

Having been in the industry for so long I decided to take a fresh look at my career and moved to Egypt to work as an assistant manager for Hilton, where I lived and worked for over six years. I also taught English as a second language whilst abroad.

Due to the stability of the country I decided to move back to my hometown of Chesterfield and was fortunate enough to find the gem that is Milestone Financial Planning where I currently work as a Technical Administrator.

In the office

  • Daily Administration duties and following the new business process
  • Diary Management for Advisors and booking meetings
  • Liaising with Clients and Providers with regards to their Financial requirements and gathering of policy information
  • Organising Clients Reviews

Why I love my job

I have great colleagues to work with, who have a wealth of knowledge and experience. No two days are the same, which makes each day varied and fun. I absolutely love meeting and greet our clients.

What I do outside work

Being married to a Chef, I love food so on our days off we love to travel the countryside sampling the local cuisine and walking it off on some of Derbyshire’s great walks. I love to socialise with my family, especially after being away for so long. I’m also addicted to Netflix!
